Welcome to Cottage on the Hill, your cozy hideaway perched in a peaceful maritime forest near the Roanoke Sound! This charming retreat is all about privacy, comfort, and that perfect coastal vibe. Tucked away among the trees, it feels like your own secret escape, yet you’re just a short stroll from the sound where sunsets paint the sky in dazzling colors.
Step inside and let the relaxation begin. The first floor welcomes you with warm wood floors, a comfy living and dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen featuring stainless steel appliances and everything you need to whip up your favorite meals. The bedroom is a dream with a queen bed and a shared full bath, plus a there is washer and dryer near by for your convenience.
Head upstairs and you’ll find two more inviting bedrooms connected by a jack-and-jill bathroom. One room offers a queen bed for sweet slumber, while the other has two twin beds perfect for kids or friends. Every space is designed to make you feel right at home while still giving you that “vacation mode” feeling.
Outside, nature surrounds you. Sip your morning coffee on the porch, listen to the birds, and breathe in the salty air.
When adventure calls, you’re close to everything, shops, restaurants, the Roanoke Island attractions, and even kayaking spots for those who love to explore.

The house was clean and tidy! It had A LOT of stairs to get to the house, especially if you are out of shape like me. It has a walk path to a beach that’s about a quarter of a mile. When trying to get into contact with the host to possibly extend our stay we didn’t get a response back, we called the rental company that they go through to get an update. On our last night the listing was double booked with another person, a family member of the host. They were understanding and got a hotel but did catch us off guard. When washing clothes you are only allowed to wash one load a day due to their septic tank. On checkout day we did not get any instructions on check out information!!
