We had a really great time at Askara Toba. The staff was very nice and extremely helpful. Extra wishes for pillows or kettle were no problem. The area was nice and quiet - we spend a lot time at the beach, swimming in the lake and eating the good food at the restaurant. Scooter rental and recommendations for nearby spots and activities are also provided.
Only cold water in the bathroom but thats no problem on hot days.

Super friendly, honest and helpful staff! They really contributed to our stay being so nice. Very spacious room and comfortable bed.

Right on the lake with small private beach. Traditional Batak house right on the property. Rey, who runs the place, is exceptionally friendly and helpful. He invited me for a hike on my first day and, when I left amid pouring rain, he drove me to the bus station. In between times we hung out and had some good conversation, as he speaks pretty good English.
No hot water. When I first arrived there was no towel, no toilet paper and no fan in the room, but as soon as I requested them they were provided. The bathroom sink got stopped up, but as soon as I reported it they sent someone to unplug it. The location is not the most convenient unless you have a vehicle, but there are several restaurants within easy walking distance.

Rooms are very big. Nice garden. The guys from the staff are really friendly and you can always hang out with them.
The room wasn’t really clean, small toilet and small cold shower. Private beach not kept, it’s a shame cause would be a very good perk.
