Centrally located 3-4 miles from Gunwharf Quays, The Historic Docks & Port Solent. In a nice quiet side road near local shops . Good sized bedrooms with storage & comfy firm beds. Car parking on site. Nice patio area. Everything you needed in Kitchen. Easy contact with host who is very helpful. Found two lovely restaurants, Tap & Tandor Indian Gunwharf & Yaprak Turkish in Port Solent.
Accessibility: The large downstairs shower room has a a tightly spaced shower cubicle & a low toilet. Lounge sofa is low too but there are cushioned dining chairs.

A stunning and deceptively spacious chalet bungalow which was clean, comfortable and well considered throughout. The kitchen is well stocked with all the plates, bowls and side dishes you could need. The thoughtful extras were very unexpected but most appreciated. Plenty of outdoor space and, despite being located in a built up area, it didn't feel overlooked. This house had everything you would need for a stay away. We only stayed for two nights, but I am already working on convincing my partner to visit Portsmouth with me and I would have absolutely no hesitation booking The Lodge again, even though it would be far too big for just the two of us!
If I *had* to nit-pick (and I mean, really had to, because there was not a lot to fault here) I would say getting into/off the driveway was a bit faffy, but only because there was a car parked opposite which left little space for manoeuvring. If you are confident at reversing through small gaps and around corners, you'll be fine. I was in an SUV sized car and had little problems.
The kitchen was also missing a dish brush/sponge, but it's hardly the end of the world if you can't do the washing up on a weekend away...
