Stunning views. Fantastic location for easy reach of the town, beach, supermarket and pretty port and Marina area, good Kitchen and comfortable bed. Had the rustic roof terrace to myself and just loved being there a lot with the sunshine and views! Excellent contact with a local representative by WhatsApp whenever I had any questions or needed any help. I was on my own and loved it. Would be great for a couple too. Easy to get bus from airport to Mogan.
I didn’t dislike anything about the property. However, there were some key things that were not in the description that may be important for some people - but were absolutely fine for me. The property is up a winding path through the old town houses. There is no road access to the property. You have to walk up 158 steps from the town to the front door with your cases, shopping, etc. When you don’t have anything to carry it really is only a 2 to 3 minute walk - and it’s a lovely walk past some pretty properties with lots of plants and coloured tiles. The lounge has no windows - as in no glass. It is completely open which is lovely in many ways. It is completely safe because outside is a sheer wall so people can’t come in and it is very quiet - there are not many people passing anyway. I was concerned that if I had the lights on after dark it would mean I had a lot of bugs coming in, but that was not the case (end March/early April). There is a tarpaulin-type blind that you can wind down if the weather was bad. The spare room/2nd lounge does have windows but not adequate curtains for it to be a bedroom if you like to have darkness. I simply didn’t use this room. The kitchen is great and the bathroom is very spacious. I think they may consider changing the boiler because there was only enough hot water for four minutes - that was fine because I stayed on my own - just about! But worth checking. I found one cushion for a lounger - but may be nice to have a pair for the two loungers for all day comfort!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Casa Rustica and had a good time in Puerto de Mogán. The apartment itself was clean, and one of its biggest highlights is definitely the location high above the old town. Once you have climbed all the steps, you are rewarded with an absolutely fantastic view over the entire village and out towards the sea. The rooftop terrace also offers an especially impressive panoramic view and could easily be one of the highlights of the accommodation. Guests should be aware that the apartment can only be reached via quite a lot of stairs through the old part of town. This was not a problem for us at all, and other reviews already mention it clearly, so it did not come as a surprise. In fact, the advantage is that the apartment is located very high up, which is exactly why the views are so excellent. Puerto de Mogán itself is very picturesque and certainly worth visiting. We had a lovely time overall and enjoyed our stay.
Although the rooftop terrace has a fantastic view, during our stay there were always two other people using it, so we never really had the feeling that we could enjoy it privately. Of course, this is not necessarily a problem if you do not mind sharing the space with strangers, but it did not quite match our expectations based on how prominently the rooftop terrace is presented. The explanatory video we received also mentioned that another person has access to it but hardly ever uses it, which was very different from our experience. In addition, parts of the terrace still looked somewhat unfinished or under construction. One very important thing to know when using the rooftop terrace is to make sure the door cannot fall shut behind you, as it is very easy to lock yourself out. The safest option is to unlock the door, open it, and then lock it again while it is still open, so that the locking bolt remains extended and the door can no longer close properly. Alternatively, make sure the door is securely blocked open. Unfortunately, we learned this the hard way. The door fell shut behind us and we were completely locked out on the rooftop terrace. In the end, the only way I managed to get back into the apartment was by using a clothesline that happened to be there and climbing down the outside of the building to the floor below, where we had fortunately left a window open. It sounds almost funny in hindsight, but it was obviously extremely dangerous and absolutely not something anyone should try to repeat. Future guests should therefore take this seriously and secure the door before spending time on the terrace. There are also a few practical things future guests should be aware of. Cockroaches and ants unfortunately seem to be something you have to expect in this part of the old town, including inside the apartment. We therefore found it advisable to take the rubbish down to the central waste disposal area every day.
