The house is within a short distance to the beach which is ideal.
Upon entry, we were immediately met with a damp musty smell and a freezing cold house. It was clear there had been no heating in the house for a while for this to be the smell we were greeted with. The smell of damp was also evident throughout the night to those sleeping in the bunk beds as the double beds could smell the damp from the mattresses above them.
The floors in the dining area and living room were not clean. My 16 month old picked up a dead blue bottle on the floor in the living room and tried to eat it (not the only dead fly to be found in the living room either) while my two year old was counting how many dead woodlice were on the dining room floor. The dining tablecloth had quite a bit of dirt on it. My wee girls socks were completely dirty after running around the living room on the tiles which again, showed how unclean it was.
In the ensuite bathroom downstairs, there was dirt in the shower and cobwebs, all of which we had to clean before it could be used. The upstairs bathroom was a bit cleaner with the exception of cobwebs behind the door.
The corner sofa is very low to the ground and not very comfortable to sit on, seems like it could do with an upgrade to provide more support. Mattresses were hit and miss with sore backs in the morning.
There were no instructions provided on how to use the heating and when it was figured out, the smell of the fumes from the boiler in the kitchen were very strong.
We were very disappointed to see no internet was provided, particularly with minimal channels on TV, it would have been useful for netflix.
There was also dog poo on the grass outside the front door of the house, clearly some owners don't clean up after their dogs as they should be doing, but not ideal to see on your stay, particularly when you've two young children staying!
We were disappointed in our stay at this property.
