Stunning location and views over the Scottish countryside. The responsiveness of the heritage team. For instance the travel cot was broken on our arrival and we needed an urgent replacement. The team answered immediately and literally sent someone with a replacement that afternoon, you can’t ask for a better response than that. The beds were very comfy and the cottage comfortably caters for a large family with the ability to have some of your own space when and if wanted. We would absolutely recommend and would stay again.

There is very little not to like as the photos give you a good sense of the property. Others have commented on the steepness of the drive. It is correct that it is steep and as long as you take care it is fine. Personally I reversed down it every time,I have a Landrover Discovery 7 seater, you don’t get much bigger vehicle than that, and I was absolutely fine with manoeuvring on the drive. Take care on the narrow lanes to the property as when you meet another car in the opposite direction, one of you will have to reverse back for the other to pass. This is almost trivial, but for such a lovely property the cutlery is of a cheap standard and needs upgrading and is not in keeping with the otherwise great facilities, all the appliances are Miele!!

- The location was quiet and secluded but easy access in to Aberdeen and the city centre. - The property itself is beautiful and charming, and the interior is modern and on trend which does make it feel like a luxe property. - The driveway and very private garden with outdoor furniture at the front door is a bonus for nice weather. - The beds were extremely comfy, brilliantly sized, with good pillows and good quality duvets too. - There was plenty of storage through the property and great facilities e.g. washing machine, tumble dryer, large fridge and large freezer which is great when you are staying for a couple of nights. - There are two livings areas within the property with generously sized tv’s too. - The information booklets were really helpful especially with QR codes to show you how different appliances work in the property.

- There were a few bins throughout the property but in bathrooms and the kitchen. We felt like it would be beneficial if there were some more e.g. in bedrooms. - One bin bag for a 3 night minimum stay. We ate out for most of our stay but the bin filled pretty quickly. - One bedroom is set up as most suitable for children with children’s decor. This is nice when you have a child staying as we did, but there were no children’s book, toys, or jigsaws etc. within the property. This was a little disappointing given there is a children’s bookshelf in the children’s room. Sometimes these small gestures are great when you are away from home with young children, and I imagine this size of property attracts families with kids. - This is more of a luxe property/stay and similar properties I have stayed in previously have supplied welcome hampers. This is not provided at this property which would be a nice touch. - The kitchen is well equipped but there are very few baking sheets provided within the property with such a large oven which we thought was a shame. Similarly, plenty of mixing bowls but no plastic/or other jugs are provided in the kitchen. - We found the property to be a little chilly at night despite boosting the heating (all radiators had been tuned off entirely or down low, so we also had to turn them up or on). We did use the log burner in the main living area one evening but the ash had not been emptied out. We had to do this before using the log burner. There were very few firelighters and newspaper available for the log burners as well. - We did ask for late checkout and had double checked on booking.com and Airbnb if the property was available the next day before making this request. The property did show availability but the hosts told us they had guests checking in the next afternoon. This was a really disappointing end to our stay and felt like it was not accurate. Check out at 10am is early so I would not say late checkout is accommodated.
