Do not book this place. The "convenience" is not worth it. Feel free to learn from my mishap.

I traveled from Japan to come see some friends I never get to see. I needed a place where I would have easy access to get around Plymouth to be able to meet up with them regularly.This place was incredibly convenient to the town center. I was about a 15 minute walk (or less) from SO much. It was really the only this saving it from being a flat-out hellscape. Unfortunately, its location is where the good things end. This place should not have been on the market yet. The host claims she is renovating as time and money allows. I think she should not be renting it in the meantime, especially for a long stay such as mine (20 nights). I asked for an early check in. She said it would be fine, and the apartment would be ready. When I told her my arrival time (12:30-1:00pm), she said I still couldn't check in until after 3pm (screenshots attached). Traveled for about 25 hours. Really just wanted to lay down. There was no lockbox, as stated, and I had to wait for a physical handoff of the key (screenshots).

(check photos and communication screenshots attached) --Smoke alarm removed from the main room. --Washing machine didn't work upon arrival. Had to be present for repair person several days after I arrived. --Stove took over half an hour to boil water. Two burners simply didn't work, and the main breaker kept tripping. I was basically unable to cook. Any money I saved on this accommodation was wasted on having to eat out. Many of my groceries went unused. I had to get my own hotplate halfway through the trip. --Oven was on when I first turned the breaker on for the unit. I couldn't turn the oven off because the knob was so stripped, it couldn't turn. --No marking on the stove to indicate heat level or if the burner was even on. --Blinds absolutely covered in mold, several blades missing, and the mechanism for closing them was gone. Had to climb in a rolling chair to open and close blinds. --Water pressure in the shower was awful, and the showerhead was leaking from the bottom where the hose meets the head. --Light above bathroom sink didn't work. --There was a patio chair (no patio, though) to sit in, but I was afraid to do so because it was on its last threads on either side of it. --The microwave was absolutely gross. --Host was relatively responsive, but any repairs needing to be done would have required me to be present, taking me away from my vacation and plans with people who live across the world from me. --My kitchen utensils consisted of one plastic spoon, one wooden spoon, a pair of broken scissors, a wine bottle opener, a can opener, and more spoons and forks than any one person could need. Flipping an egg and slicing a tomato were interesting endeavors. --No dryer, which is fine. However, also no real place to hang laundry while it is wet. I improvised by having to hang it all along the blinds banister. --There is no wifi in this apartment.

Excellent location, close to all amenities. Great communication from the host. Very clean and tidy. Great value for money. Lovely, no frills, basic accommodation
