This beautiful, quiet country cottage had everything we could ask for. Accommodation is spacious and super-comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom and the conservatory and garden are perfect places to unwind. Close to the market town of Forres, it’s a great location from which to explore the Moray coast and venture inland to the Cairngorms National Park. The nearby beaches at Findhorn and Roseisle are exceptional.

Juniper Cottage is located in a beautiful country landscape just a short distance from the Califer Hill Viewpoint - the most stunning view point out over Findhorn Bay and the Moray Firth. The cottage is spacious, clean and very well organised. The pièce de résistance is a large glass room which collects heat from the skies and provides open views around the well tended gardens and out over sheep pasture towards pine forest. It is the most relaxing place to sit and read or observe the skies and bird life that abounds - we saw little owls, swallows, finches and many more. The cottage was extremely well equipped and the comprehensive instructions were easy to follow. Our host kept in contact throughout our stay. We took our bicycles and rode down into Findhorn Bay and village for coffee and cakes. The Bay is very sheltered and we were able to swim in clear, calm water at high tide. The cottage is surrounded by a network of single track roads which are quiet and excellent for cycling for example over to Pluscarden Abbey where you can hear the monks singing during one of the daily Hours. Other trips to Cawdor Castle, Brodie Castle, Gorden castle gardens we did by car (good parking at cottage) via connections with the A96 Inverness to Aberdeen main road. Finally the cottage is a haven of peace and calm to return to each day. We really enjoyed our stay.

We would highly recommend staying at Juniper Cottage. We stayed for 7 days and can't fault the stay. The Cottage was well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, and little added touches left for us like milk, dishwasher tabs and laundry detergent were most welcome. The place was a very good size. The bed we used was comfortable too. The location was beautiful, and whilst set amongst sheep fields and bordering forest, it was very quick to get to Forres or onto the A96. I really enjoyed my early mornings in the conservatory with a cup of tea looking out at the flowers in the beautiful garden, the little birds flitting around and the sheep and lambs wandering in the adjacent field.
