After 35+ years in the U.S. casino business, I’ve learned that how a business handles challenges matters most.
My first visit to Port Barton and stay at Maison Payapa was memorable. Romain and Beverly handled issues with genuine care, professionalism, and sincerity.

Great place to stay off the beaten track in Port Barton. New hotel with very nice and friendly staff. Special mention to Beverly who went out of her way before and during our stay to make to so memorable! The small and cool private pools were nice after a day put in the hot weather.

The aesthetic and big room. We were offered a free room upgrade which we loved.
The bathroom smells. I think there is something wrong with the drainage. Can be improved.

Comfortable bed.
Friendly welcome with excellent communication before and throughout our stay.
We specifically booked this accommodation because it advertised a swimming pool; however, the private plunge pool available with our room was not suitable for use as the heavy rain made it difficult to keep clean.
No running water or electricity from 06:00-12:00 in the mornings made it a very uncomfortable stay. There is a generator that you can request they switch on; but, this only operates the water pump and shower, so no power to the air conditioning unit, fridge, nor the kettle.
The water from the taps and shower is discoloured and smells.
The property next door seemed to be doing repairs or construction and playing loud music, so it was noisy during the day.
Access road to the property is unpaved and gets very muddy and slippery in the rain.
