Stressful
We never made it past the parking lot.
Communication with the rental management property was extremely difficult. It required multiple calls and attempts through booking.
Once I was able to speak with them, I found their protocol insecure and outdated. Be aware that this company will request: 1. a photograph of your driver’s license and 2. a photograph of your credit card. When I expressed my concerns, I was told that they are a small company and the best they could do was charge me a $300 incidental hold to my credit card, of which I would be responsible for processing fees regardless of whether the card need to be charged. I asked if I could provide my credit card number to the over the phone - the response was no because they couldn’t trust me to provide the correct number (in case they need to charge it - see more below and they don’t want to hold my credit card number - yet they are happy to leave photographs on a server).
I agreed to download the booking.com app and message them the info via the app as it seemed slightly more secure than texting, emailing a random email address not associated with booking.com. On the day of check in, I attempted to send them the previously requested information as well as a photo of my license plate. They never received it.
Fast forward to the day of our check in at 4pm. I called and emailed them at 12pm, no response. Then again at 2pm and 4:15pm. Nothing. Booking.com finally reached then 3.5 hours past our check in time as we sat in the property’s parking lot. They said they’d still be happy to accommodate if I sent the items I already sent.
The feedback loop continued. They have no office to stop by to resolve the issue. All of this contributed to negative and stressful travel experience.
Ended up staying elsewhere.
Also, they have a very long list of rules and fines that by themselves feel rigid and with their obstinance with the need for a photograph of your credit card - it’s easy to see this being abused.
The parking lot was muddy and it was hard to say if the property was under construction.
