Stay away from this host and do not book this apartment under any circumstances.
Our reservation was confirmed through Booking.com for a two-night stay at a total price of USD 526.70. The booking confirmation clearly stated that the USD 52 resort fee was already included in the total amount. Despite this, before check-in the host demanded the same amount again, this time calling it a “registration fee.” She also mentioned the separate parking charge of USD 15 per day, which had already been stated in the booking conditions.
After a long journey, we arrived at the building, but she did not come to meet us, did not appear at reception, and did not provide access to the apartment. Instead of resolving the issue, she continued creating difficulties over the phone and pressured us to cancel the reservation ourselves. Had we done so, we would have been left without accommodation and faced a cancellation charge of nearly USD 300.
We never stayed in this person’s apartment.
Fortunately, another host in the same building saw the situation we were in, supported us, and allowed us to stay in his own apartment. He provided outstanding hospitality. We are sincerely grateful to him, the reception team, and the building staff for their honesty, kindness, and support at such a difficult moment. Without them, our two-day trip would have been completely ruined.
The building staff also told us that this was not the first time such an incident had occurred, that other guests had experienced similar problems, and that there had been serious issues involving this host before. We were also told that the same person may use different names and contact details on different platforms. We cannot independently verify this information, but we believe Booking.com should thoroughly investigate all listings, phone numbers, payment requests, cancellation records, and previous complaints connected to this account.
