Inaccurate description
Very little
To start, the bus driver forgot to alert me to the stop where I should have disembarked, so I walked about half mile back to the property. I quickly realized that this was no "trendy" area. I observed everything from refrigerators to mattresses on the sidewalk and in front of buildings, with tons of trash everywhere. When I turned into Nebula Court, the trash theme continued, which speaks volumes about an area. This was the "trendy" East London that's in the description.
The apartment has an elevator, so that was good, given that I was pulling a mid sized suitcase, along with a backpack and carry on bag. At first glance, it seemed OK, and looked like the pictures. I noticed that the blinds in the bedroom were broken, so took a picture and sent it to the property manager the next day.
The first problem was the TV wouldn't come on. After talking with the property manager and spending time trying to solve the problem, I was asked to purchase batteries while I was looking around the area, and the batteries solved the problem. I was exhausted from the overseas trip, but wanted to stay up so I would sleep well later, so watched TV for awhile. I kept smelling something foul on the sofa, but didn't identify it immediately.
When I went to bed later, I was dismayed to discover that the bed was quite broken down, and I could feel every spring digging into my body. I tossed and turned for a bit, hoping to find a comfortable spot, and after a couple of hours of almost falling asleep, I sat on the edge of the bed and cried from exhaustion and frustration. I tried the sofa, but besides being uncomfortable, it had a foul smell. I finally made coffee around 4am, as I was meeting a cousin who lives in London at 7am for breakfast. I did not sleep at all that night. I spent part of the day with family, then went back to the apartment to freshen up and change clothes.
