Pros: good location. Proximity to the old town, the castle and interesting good places. Place was newly renovated, very clean. Appliances were new and in excellent condition. Staff were great. Difficulties with a code that the Carrefour collection point found " invalid" were resolved quickly. When we had trouble with the Belgian lock, response was almost immediate. Thanks so much for the attentiveness!
Cons: 1. Shower area is too small and almost not usable. the shower screen ( in photos) were replaced by a shower curtain. The curtain gets wind draft that pushes it into the shower area. The shower rail ( holding up the curtain) was set up much further inward than the missing shower screen door. The result : For a supposed 3 feet depth, the shower area was reduced to an effective depth of about 1.5 feet. Every movement must be constrained or you risk pushing the curtain outwards beyond the shower area and wetting the entire bathroom.
2. MUST be good with using Belgian (?) door locks that needs to be pushed up before locking.
3. No elevator. Narrow staircase that fits a trim person with a small bag. You must be slim to negotiate the winding skinny staircase.
4 staircase is pitch dark at the bottom. . Light switch is timed, requires a quick walk up before the light goes out on you. No other light switches at intermediate floors except at the very bottom and top. Do not stay authentic top floor.
