The location is fantastic, offering stunning views overlooking the bay. It is perfectly situated for walking the South Coast Path, and we enjoyed some wonderful walks straight from the property. The house itself is beautiful and exceptionally well-equipped with everything you could possibly need for cooking and hanging out. The outdoor room, top-floor lounge and the outdoor seating area are all lovely, relaxing spaces to hang out.
While we had a great stay, there were a few issues that seemed like teething problems for a property new to the agency:
Communication: The automated messaging system through the Booking.com chat was a bit poor. Important links and attachments didn't come through, and some information was occasionally incorrect.
Parking & Accessibility: Parking outside the house is quite tight and wasn't large enough for our bigger cars, so we had to park further up. Because the hill is exceptionally steep, this proved quite challenging for the members of our party with mobility issues.
Cleanliness: First impressions were slightly let down by the cleaning staff leaving cleaning cloths lying around the property when we arrived.
Maintenance & Support: On our final two nights, the oil boiler in the utility room began leaking fumes, which made us uneasy about safety and required us to move the kids upstairs to sleep with us. Unfortunately, we couldn’t reach anyone via the out-of-hours contact numbers (either rang out or wouldn't connect). While a representative told us the next day that someone would come to look at it, the lack of follow-up communication left us unsure, and the smell persisted (if diminished) until we checked out.
Sunlight: Just as a note for future guests, the property doesn't get a lot of direct sun, so the nearby beach is a better option if you are looking to sunbathe.
