From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcome. The hospitality was exceptional – it felt more like staying with relatives than at a typical holiday rental. We were even welcomed with thoughtful treats, including milk, crisps and biscuits, which was a lovely touch.
The cleanliness deserves a special mention. Everything was absolutely spotless, with fresh, beautifully scented, high-quality bedding and fluffy fresh towels.
The lodge had everything we needed, including a microwave, toaster, kettle, tea and coffee, BBQ, outdoor seating, children's toys, TV, and even thoughtful extras like clothes pegs and a washing line. Nothing had been overlooked.
It is also incredibly dog-friendly. The secure, well-maintained fenced garden meant we never had to worry about our miniature Dachshund escaping.
The hot tub was fantastic, with beautiful countryside views. Sheep were grazing right next to our fence, which made the whole setting feel peaceful and idyllic.
We couldn't recommend this place more highly and would happily stay here again.
The only small point is that while it was perfect for the three of us (two adults and our 17-year-old daughter), it might feel a little compact for three adults.
