The property was in an absolute state when we had arrived and looked like it had not been cleaned at all. There was hair all over the floor, stains in the bathrooms, rubbish outside the property, furniture damaged, stains on the bedding, and just an overall stench in the property.
There was mixed reviews on this property on AirBnB and since we were a large group we thought we’d give them a chance. However this was the biggest mistake! We immediately contacted the property manager to explain the situation, they did not seem surprised at all that the property was in this state. They’d initially offered to send out a cleaner but as it was already 8pm, both parties agreed on a full refund including the £300 deposit and the full booking fee, as we had chosen to book a different last minute apartment. They have sent us our deposit back within a couple of days, and had mentioned that the booking payment was being processed. I gave them 2 weeks for the payments to come through incase it would take a while to come through on my bank account.
It has been a whole month later, they have blocked my number and have now told Booking.com that they didn’t even agree to the refund in the first place.

The place was unsecured and filthy.
It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in the whole year it’s been a holiday let.
There were stains on everything, walls, headboards, carpets bedding.
The bedding stank, it was unclean and unsanitary.
There was no bin, glass on the floor, bodily fluids on bedding. The bedding had not been cleaned.
The floor was sticky, muddy and covered in detritus including the carpets. There were balls of hair, rubbish, mud. One bed had an earring back in, there was grass on the towels. Even the sign that they put on one bed with their branding on was covered in a stain
Everything was awful. It’s the most disgusting place i’ve stepped foot in.
I have hundreds of photographs showing everything from faeces in the toilet to mould in the fridge, used soap breaking down in a wet soap tray in the shower. Dead flies on window ledges a build up of dust on every surface, splatters all over the kitchen, spills not cleared up.
The host tried to claim they could “fix it” and offered us a very small discount and cleaners to come. Someone came who was instructed to bring bedding. This bedding was also stained. Everything needed replacing. Light fittings were coming down from the ceiling, there were broken lamps, lamps without bulbs. The whole place was damp. It needs extensive work to be habitable never mind “luxe”.
There are almost identical reviews on airbnb if you want to verify my experience.
The issues could not be resolved, they’ve refused to refund us and we had to leave and book someone else last minute. They also took a £300 security deposit which is hilarious if they’ve done that to previous booking because the amount of damage is so servere the security deposit was shocking. They’ve not refunded this or the late check out fee I paid.
