Welcome to the Laughing Canoe Lodge, where Lake Burton memories set against the serene Blue Ridge mountains in Clayton, Georgia begin. Our family's 4-bedroom/3-bathroom classic lake/mountain cabin sits on a knoll in Dick's Creek Cove and features a hot tub, outdoor fire pit, indoor fireplace and pool table. Take a 6-min. walk on a mountain laurel-lined lane to access the lake via the neighborhood dock. Just minutes from La Prade's Marina and Anchorage Marina, both offering boat launch and and boat/watersports rentals. Enjoy morning coffee in the rocking chairs on the front porch as you plan your day in North Georgia boating, jet skiing, hiking to a local waterfall, visiting nearby wineries, or exploring the shops and restaurants of charming downtown Clayton. Unwind with a good book or drinks on the back porch. Gather in the Lodge Room for board games, a game of pool or TV. Can't get enough of the mountain air? Head to the backyard to enjoy the sunset, firepit or a relaxing soak in the hot tub overlooking peaceful woodlands. Cook's kitchen equipped with everything you need for a homemade dinner (oversized table and large island). Beverage refrigerator. Kitchen area desk for home office days. Spacious second-level master bedroom with vaulted ceilings, king bed, TV, desk, yoga mats and ensuite bathroom with soaking tub and walk-in shower. Two inviting secondary bedrooms with queen beds on main level PLUS an upstairs loft with three full-sized beds perfect for teens and kids. Two additional full baths. This 2,400-square-foot home offers plenty of space for 9 guests.
20 minutes to shops and restaurants of downtown Clayton, Tiger Mountain Vineyards and Stonewall Creek Vineyards (the closest of many North Georgia wineries). Choose from dozens of nearby hiking trails, including the Hemlock Falls Trail, just 5-minutes drive to a trailhead leading to beautiful waterfalls. 30 minutes to at Black Rock Mountain State Park, Stekoa Creek Park and Tallulah Gorge State Park. Day trip to Highlands, North Carolina, just 50-minutes drive. Waterfall Club is 7 minutes drive.
