The lovely owner, Ivy, lives at the property and welcomed us on arrival. Ivy spent time showing us around and telling us about things to do in the area. While offering to help at any time if we had questions, Ivy left us to it after checking we were ok. Apartment 2 is on the ground floor and is one of seven holiday lets in this large Victorian villa. The property is in a quiet leafy road, well away from Torquay's busy town centre. The best thing for me was the swimming pool - we spent the three hottest days of the heatwave either under a parasol or in the water - it was a real lifesaver for me! I guess it gets busy in the school holidays, but during our stay we had the pool to ourselves for almost the whole time which felt very luxurious! We travelled by train (5 mins from Torquay station) so daytrips to Teignmouth and Paignton were easy. There is a well-stocked Coop round the corner so we didn't need to go into the centre of Torquay at all!
The main bedroom and bed felt a bit small for two tall people. Fortunately for us we were able to spread out and have a room each so it wasn't a problem.
