poor commitment and communication. Quiet location, clean place, good for small family only.

Location was great, in a very quiet lot and away for the town centre. Place is clean. has air condition so good for hot summer weather. Bed in the bedroom was comfortable but other sofa beds are very soft. Good for a couple or a small family.

Communication and the host's commitment to customer is poor. After I made the reservation, the host recognized she made an error in the price and sent a message to me with two options: (1) accept a new rate but rate was not specified; or (2) "offer" to cancel my reservation at no cost to me (well, it would be non-sense if she cancel my reservation yet still charge me~). While I was in touch with the customer service at Booking to find out the new rate (which is ~15% higher and I agreed to it), she still cancelled my reservation!!! I was busy at work and I need a place for 6pl so I re-booked the same reservation on the Booking website at a 50% higher new rate. I messaged her requesting for clarification and a proper price match but she asked me to contact Booking. I had to follow up with Booking customer service multiple time and was told that the host was not responding to them. 2-days before my trip the host told me that she had responded to Booking. I have no idea if the communication gap is at the host or the Booking customer service, but I never heard back any explaination why my first reservation still got cancelled after I agreed to the rate, neither my request for price match. It seems the host is very comfortable of changing her mind frequently and boosting the price. I ended up paying at a rate 50% higher than my original reservation and spent/waste a lot of time speaking with the customer service. Was a poor value of reservation considering the amount of time that I took to call the customer service. As for the place, the bed in the bedroom is comfortable, but the pull-out sofa bed in the living area was very soft, and there was no curtain for the big window in the attic (very bright in summer morning). So it is good for a couple or a small family, not really good for 6pl if you have more than two adults.

Location near Stamp River Provincial Park and in quiet, gorgeous outskirts of Port Alberni. Kitchen and bath were well appointed. Hosts were great and responsive.

Has steps and sills that could be challenging for accessibility. Connectivity is generally okay by Internet but the location won’t provide super fast & reliable connection speeds you might be used to in the big city.
