We stayed in Casa Celine which is also a winter home to the hosts - Celina and Maarten. As such they have created a home away from home with exceptional attention to detail in this beautiful apartment. The hosts got in touch with us in advance with very useful information and were available throughout for any questions. Also providing us with a detailed guide of the area and messages with local information while we were there. There were many kind and thoughtful touches at the property itself and throughout our stay. The guesthouse is perfect for couples who want somewhere quiet and relaxed. A car is a must but then that's part of being away from the crowds. This is a beautiful part of Portugal and a great base to explore from. We would highly recommend.
Nothing we didn't like. Just two suggestions. Better signposting of the villa from the 'main' road and signage at the property itself as the turning is easy to miss and the property isn't obvious until you know about it. Also an iron and ironing board would have been handy.

Maarten and Celine are exceptionally kind and helpful hosts — always available, always with a good tip, and never intrusive. The house itself is beautiful: the decoration mixes old and new in a really tasteful way, and the attention to detail shows everywhere. The views are stunning and the setting is wonderfully calm and relaxing — the peace and quiet was exactly what we needed. The swimming pool was the perfect finishing touch after a day out.
The house has absolutely everything you need for your stay, and the location is ideal: everything is within easy reach. Faro and its old walled town are a must, Santa Luzia is a charming old fishing village for an evening walk along the promenade and a good fish dinner, Olhão is lively at night with plenty of restaurants and bars, and the ferry to Fuseta beach felt almost Caribbean.
We also want to thank Maarten and Celine for the lovely birthday surprise — a really thoughtful gesture that made the stay even more special.
Highly recommended. We'll definitely be back!
