This is the most amazing place to stay in Hydra. We were met by the wonderful owner, Katerina, as soon as we stepped off the ferry. She escorted us up to the house, which is a short (15-20 minute) walk that includes some steps. During the walk up she gave us all sorts of useful information for our short stay. This set the tone for Katerina's hospitality throughout - nothing was too much trouble.
The place itself is immaculate. Newly renovated, with amazing comfortable beds and everything you need for a relaxing stay. The Starlink WIFI was a particular bonus, and although the weather wasn't quite warm/dry enough to make the most of it, the terrace with sea views is beautifully situated (see photo for the view!).
While the location isn't directly in the main town, we felt that this was an advantage - there is something magical about being in such a peaceful setting, with only the sound of a cockerel crowing or passing boats in the distance. And it's only a short walk down into town for a drink or dinner.
Two tips:
1. If you are bringing suitcases, then it's worth taking Katerina's recommendation to use a mule/donkey to take them up to the house at the beginning of your stay and down again at the end.
2. We had dinner in a restaurant called "Manna". We've been living in Greece for 3 years now and this is one of the best meals we have had here - you must give it a try!
Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this property. It's Katerina's fantastic hospitality that makes it - we are hugely grateful and hope to stay again.

Katarina went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed every minute of our stay in Leonidas Cottage. She was so helpful and thoughtful, from getting Mules to carry our bags, to homemade cake delivered through the half door on our first morning!!. The house is fabulous, so comfortable and well equipped, has everything you need.

Our host Katerina was exceptional, very accommodating and made sure our stay was a lovely comfortable experience. Overall our stay could not have been more perfect!
