This is a budget option in Kotka. As budget option one cannot expect luxury or cozy atmosphere. It's more like an hostel (but without service). The rooms are rather spacious, there's a lot of space in the common areas, a kitchen where one can cook, etc.
There's a good rule to keep the shoes at the entrance which was followed by everyone.
The bathroom (shared) was almost as big as the room. Took me a while to understand how to lock the bathroom door from inside. The location is great, in one of the most beautiful alleys of Kotka, with plenty of trees and walking distance to the centre.
I had serious problems with the keys, either to enter in the room or with the main front door. I got some help from other guests but a couple of times I really could not open the main door. It would be also helpful to mark/indicate which key opens what.
I also asked if there was a safe place inside to keep my bicycle and was told there was no such place. However there was plenty of space inside to keep a bike (without dirtying the area). This place in fact could be a great place for cyclists as it is a budget option and there could be a lot of space to keep safely the bikes.
Bed mattresses were a bit too soft for my back.
