The host provided beach towels and an umbrella, which was convenient. We also appreciated having a washing machine with detergent provided. The partial sea view from the apartment was pretty, and the air conditioning worked well.
The host made us cancel our reservation through Booking and insisted that we pay in cash. We wanted to pay by credit card, but she refused. Since we had no other choice at the last minute, we had to withdraw cash from an ATM, which resulted in a 15% ATM fee plus a foreign transaction fee, costing us over €50 extra. The host did give us a small discount for paying cash, but in the end, the additional fees actually made the stay more expensive than it would have been if we had simply kept our original Booking reservation.
The apartment also had some basic issues. The kitchen was not properly equipped for cooking—there were no spatulas or even a sponge for washing dishes. We ended up buying our own moka pot to make coffee.
Only a sheet was provided on the bed, and we found ourselves cold at night. A comforter or additional blanket would have been appreciated.
There is semi-transparent glass in the bathroom, but we discovered you can see in from the street if somebody is in there… don’t go naked near the sink !!
Overall, the experience was disappointing, particularly because of the unexpected payment situation and the additional costs it created for us.
