We liked the position of the house. It was spacious and had a lovely well equipped kitchen and we found the beds comfortable . Clare dealt with our queries very quickly and was very helpful host .
This is new rental and still ironing out a few issues but it didn’t detract from our stay and we would return .

Fortescue House is a very nice quirky old building with modern interiors. We came in via the veranda into a sitting room and go through (!) a bookshelf into a large kitchen (well equipped), dining and sitting room, with a toilet and outside space on the ground floor. On the first floor are a bedroom with a small double bed, another bedroom with two single beds and a small bathroom with a well working shower. And on the top floor is a bedroom with large double bed. Because the house and neighbouring building have thatched roofs there is obviously no BBQ. Everything was very clean and Clare was extremely helpful to resolve any problems in minutes (we were one of the first guests and a few things were lacking).
The stairs are very narrow and steep and the mattresses and sofas are rather soft. We would have liked wardrobes to hang cloths and not only cabinets with drawers.
