The Space:

Compact by design, this studio pairs a full bed with a kitchen built for real use — refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, blender, rice maker and coffee maker are all here, whether you're making breakfast or a full dinner. A private entrance keeps things independent, with no shared hallways to navigate. The patio out back looks toward the mountains on one side and puts you within easy reach of the ocean on the other, and both air conditioning and a ceiling fan keep the space comfortable no matter the season. It's an easy fit for two.



Guest Access:

You'll have full access to the entire apartment, as well as the property's shared amenities and common areas.

No front-desk needed — your door code and smart lock code arrive before check-in, and parking is free whether you use the on-site spot or the street.



The Neighborhood:

Hato Candal, in Río Grande on Puerto Rico's northeast coast, is a low-key residential area that happens to sit close to El Yunque National Forest and Playa del Yunque. If you're a couple or traveling solo and want the mountains and the ocean both within reach — without San Juan's crowds — this corner of the island fits the bill.



Getting Around:

Plan on renting a car for this trip — Playa del Yunque is just 12 minutes away, El Yunque National Forest's entrance is about 20 to 30 minutes out, and Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan runs roughly 45 minutes to an hour. You'll find taxis and rideshare in the area if needed, but a car is what makes getting between the beach, the rainforest and the surrounding towns easy.

Arrival & Departure

- Check-in begins at 4:00 PM local time.

- Checkout is at 11:00 AM local time.

- To ensure a smooth arrival for incoming guests, please honor the checkout time.

- Unauthorized late checkouts will incur an additional fee.

- The reservation must be booked by a legal adult; children are welcome to stay as part of the group.

Online Check-In and Verification

- Once you complete your online check-in, you'll receive the instructions to access the property.

- A simple rental agreement ensures clarity and ease; by completing your reservation you agree to our rental terms and conditions.

- To meet legal and building security requirements, you may be asked to provide a government-issued photo ID, confirm your contact info, complete our verification portal and, in some cases, a background check. This information is collected only for screening/verification purposes and is not stored or used otherwise.



Utilities & Weather in Río Grande, Puerto Rico

- Electricity Management: Due to the energy situation in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria, power outages can occur from time to time. We have a backup generator so you're never left in the dark, though its runtime depends on responsible use. During an outage, we recommend limiting higher-draw items — A/C, microwave, hair dryer, washer/dryer, and chargers — so the generator lasts as long as possible for everyone.

- Water Supply: Water outages are uncommon, and we're prepared with backup water tanks on-site. If an external service interruption happens, we recommend using water only for the essentials and pausing the washing machine until service is restored.

- Extended Outages: If an outage lasts more than 3 hours and you choose to stay, you may request a refund for the affected nights. If you'd prefer to cancel the remainder of your stay, you may request a refund for the unused nights.

- Hurricane & Storm Policy: We want your stay to be safe, but weather is out of our control. No refunds are issued for weather-related cancellations; however, in the event of a storm, we're happy to help you reschedule, subject to calendar availability.
