Escape to a charming artist’s home tucked away in the peaceful Olivenhain neighborhood of Encinitas. Set on approximately one acre of lush tropical landscaping, this private, pet-friendly retreat offers a resort-like setting while still being just minutes from the beach, shopping, restaurants, markets, and downtown Encinitas.
With a saltwater lap pool, hot tub, (no charge for heating the hot tub. The pool is not heated but can be for an additional fee.) outdoor kitchen, pizza oven, fire pit, multiple outdoor living areas, and a fully fenced yard but wildlife is present. The house is situated near a canyon. This is a wonderful place to relax, and enjoy the Southern California lifestyle.
The light-filled, open-concept home features 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a cozy den with a queen sleeper sofa, comfortably accommodating up to 6 guests.
Indoor Living
The spacious living room features two comfortable sofas, a large-screen TV, and a beautiful baby grand piano for those who enjoy playing. Just off the living room is a bright and inviting sunroom—the perfect spot for morning coffee, reading, or simply enjoying the sunshine.
The chef-ready kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, cookware, spices, filtered drinking water, and Smeg appliances, including a coffee maker, toaster, and hot-water kettle.
Adjacent to the kitchen is a welcoming dining area featuring a beautiful hardwood table with seating for up to 10 guests, surrounded by abundant natural light.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
The primary suite features a king-size bed, flat-screen TV, and sliding glass doors opening directly onto the upper deck with peaceful views of the tropical backyard. The ensuite bathroom includes a spacious European-style walk-in slate shower.
The second bedroom has a comfortable queen-size bed and a colorful, artistic tropical feel.
The guest bathroom features a Jacuzzi-style soaking tub and shower, highlighted by a beautiful custom-tiled mural.
A separate cozy den provides a queen sleeper sofa, allowing the home to comfortably sleep up to six guests.
Full laundry facilities with a washer and dryer are located downstairs.

If you think the pictures are appealing you will be in awe when you arrive to this home.This place has everything! The house is decorated so beautifully and very clean.The kitchen is filled with tools and dishes and an abundance of cookware etc.The kids enjoyed all the cool toys and art supplies.We loved the extra chairs and umbrella that were left for us to borrow (we couldn't fit our stuff from home in our car...so this was so appreciated). The closet was filled with big colorful beach towels.
The master bedroom is big and the master bathroom is gorgeous and big.This bedroom opens up to a big deck and light pours in. Keep the doors open at night for a cool night breeze.
The second bedroom is cozy and has a closet full of toys and both have AC. The den was perfect for the kiddos and has a big tv and sleeper sofa.
There is a relaxing patio right outside the dining room that is so perfect for coffee in the morning or wine at sunset.
It feels like a tree house for grown-ups.
The very best part of this property is the back yard.It is hard to believe the entire yard is yours for the enjoying.The succulents and hibiscus and banana trees are the perfect back drop for this mini oasis.We had a big fancy bbq dinner at the outdoor kitchen patio and roasted marshmallows at the gas firepit. The pool is big and just the right temp.
We all loved the pool toys/ ping pong and lounges and of course the six person hot tub. The owners of this home are very responsive and kind. I enjoyed seeing their family photos tastefully displayed.The price of this home was very reasonable and affordable especially when shared by two families.This has been our favorite vacation rental thus far.
I am so grateful they allowed us to stay in their beautiful home and trusted that we would treat it well.

There aren’t enough adjectives to describe this amazing home. We were so bummed to leave this morning. We loved swimming everyday and roasting marshmallows at night. We will be back. Hopefully very soon!

This property is a gorgeous gem! The fantastic view from the backyard of this tropical garden feels like paradise! Our family enjoyed the beautiful pool and hot tub. We gathered with friends from SoCal around the gas fire pit roasting marshmallows late into the evening. The backyard felt intimate and exotic. We enjoyed dinner every evening in the outdoor kitchen with a gorgeous view!
The main kitchen is very well stocked and we appreciated the gourmet cooking accoutrements. Linens were in good supply and the hosts thoughtfully provided laundry soap.
We would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing for an exotic vacation in Bali but with a much easier flight!
