About this cabin rental
Breathtaking views of Grandfather mountain beckon you to relax on the porch or in the hot tub and breathe in the fresh mountain air. Kick back under a canopy of the brightest stars you've ever seen at the fire pit. Hike, backpack, picnic, ski, snowboard, bike, raft, kayak, fish, gem mine, ride the alpine coaster, golf, tubing--you name it--and return for a soak in the hot tub, games, a good movie or book & a great night's sleep. This is a guest house directly adjacent to the main house.
The space
Grandfather's View is located in a private gated community two miles up Beech Mountain. The cabin interior is white pine with extra wide doors and ramps for wheelchair access, role in shower and elevator. On winter nights, you can see Sugar Mountain ski resort from the cabin deck and the lit up sky behind the cabin from Beech Mountain Ski Resort. The cabin, it's appliances and beds are new. There is wifi and ethernet. The cabin is near amazing hiking trails just twenty minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Grandfather's View cabin is a separate house from the owner's main house and shares the same front stairs and integrated deck. Blinds are provided to ensure privacy. The large screen is great for kicking back in the dual recliner and watching a movie.
Guest access
Guests have access to the drive in garage next to the elevator, the entire cabin above, the hot tub, fire pit, grill, and outdoor stairs on main deck. Enjoy relaxing walks through the neighborhood as well. Feel free to use the sleds in the front yard if it snows!
Other things to note
Transportation across the seasons:
Guests must use four wheel or AWD vehicles in the winter if there is snow or ice. The driveway is steep. A 2WD can be dangerous and may not make it up the driveway, nor the mountain, if there is winter weather: snow, ice, wintry mix.
During Spring, Summer and Fall, two wheel drives are fine.
Bicycles:
Please feel free to bring your bicycles and enjoy the biking trails!
Not Permitted:
HOA covenants prohibit side by sides, ATV's and motorcycles from being ridden in the neighborhood. Motorhomes and campers are not allowed to be parked in the neighborhood either, however, if you need to park one, the owners are happy to help you locate a place.
