About this house rental
Five private acres at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in Berks County horse-and-farm country, less than two hours from Philadelphia and about three from New York City. The nearest sound is usually birds. You get the whole property to yourself: the house, the pool, the spa, the outdoor kitchen, and all the open lawn around it.
Inside, there's room for everyone to spread out without tripping over each other. The main living room runs 30 feet long with windows on the yard, and there's a second family room with a gas fireplace for the nights everyone wants to pile onto one couch. The kitchen is open to the sunroom and living areas with quartz counters, a walk-in pantry, and a bar for casual meals, so whoever is cooking is still part of the conversation. Morning coffee happens in the sunroom.
Upstairs is the primary suite plus additional bedrooms, including one with its own private bath. Downstairs, the finished lower level adds over 1,500 square feet: two large rooms, a full bath, and a bonus living area with a projector setup for movie nights. There's walk-out access straight to the backyard.
The backyard is where most guests end up spending their time. There's a heated saltwater pool with a pool house, a 10x10 jetted spa with seating for fifteen, and a deck with a swing daybed that looks out over the property. The outdoor kitchen is fully equipped with a 10-foot stainless bar, a grill, a sink with cold and hot water, and propane hookup stove, so you can cook and eat outside all weekend without going in. A firepit sits off to the side for evenings after the kids go to bed. There's also a basketball court and plenty of flat open space for games, dogs, or nothing at all.
Multi-generational family trips, reunions, small retreats, and anyone who wants a few days without traffic. It works just as well in October for the leaves and firepit as it does in July for the pool. ***Pool will be closed end of Sept***
You're minutes from farm stands and back roads, twenty minutes to Reading, and an easy drive to Hawk Mountain, French Creek State Park, Lancaster County, and the Amish farm markets. Groceries and restaurants are close enough that you're never stranded, far enough that you can't hear them.
