Sanquhar has a range of amenities within walking distance including a café, pub, bakery, golf club, park and picnic area. Nearby is the refurbished Dumfries house and estate or explore Britain’s first official coast-to-coast footpath, the Southern Upland Way, or Drumlanrig Castles' extensive gardens and spectacular history (10.6 miles). Take a ride on a famous Clydesdale horse at the Blackstone Farm (18 miles). Set on the River Nith, one of Scotland's famous salmon rivers you may also spot wildlife a plenty from livestock to birds.

This beautiful stone cottage has been designed with accessibility in mind with a ramp up to the front door. The utility room offers a washing machine and space to hang coats and store muddy boots. The large open plan living, and kitchen area has wooden flooring throughout and is spacious with cosy sofas to relax on after a long day. Spend the evening around the dining table with a pack of cards or pick a book from the extensive collection. The master bedroom with a super-king-size bed (which can be made into a twin on request) offers views of a beautiful courtyard, and the second room is spacious with twin beds (can be made into a super-king on request). Both rooms share the family shower room.

Outside, the cottage shares a communal garden with views over the River Nith and the surrounding countryside. Enjoy salmon fishing in the John Kerr pool upstream.
