BEDROOMS & SLEEPING

The casita features two cozy bedrooms, each outfitted with a king-size bed and a small clothing rack for hanging garments, ideal for couples, duos, or small groups looking for their own comfortable space. Mattresses are standard, supportive beds offering a restful night's sleep.



BATHROOM

One full bathroom serves the home. Towels are provided (4 per stay), along with hypoallergenic pillows, toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, and soap, so you can pack light and settle right in.



KITCHEN & DINING

The fully equipped kitchen makes preparing meals a breeze. You will find a complete set of pots, pans, and utensils ready to go, along with a standard gas range and oven (turn the knob and go). The property sits at the corner of Bluegrass Ave and Nandina St, making it easy to find and conveniently positioned near the main roads into town and the park. Evenings here are extraordinarily quiet, the skies are dark enough for serious stargazing, and the pace of life is wonderfully slow.



Getting Around:

Twentynine Palms is a remote desert destination, and having your own vehicle is not just recommended, it is essential. Here is everything you need to know about getting to and getting around the area.



GETTING TO THE CASITA:

The nearest major airport is Palm Springs International Airport (PSP), located approximately 65–75 miles from the casita, roughly a 1 to 1.5-hour drive. Ontario International Airport (ONT) is about 95 miles away, or approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is approximately 145 miles, roughly 2.5 to 3 hours by car. If you are flying in, renting a car at the airport is strongly advised, it will be your lifeline once you arrive.



DRIVING IS ESSENTIAL:

The Twentynine Palms area is spread out and rural. Attractions, restaurants, and the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park are all a 5–20 minute drive from the casita. There are no walkable clusters of shops or restaurants near the property. A car gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace, make spontaneous stops at trailheads, and venture deeper into the park. Highway 62 (the Twentynine Palms Highway) is the main corridor connecting the area's communities.



RIDESHARE & taxis:

Uber and Lyft do have a presence in Twentynine Palms, but availability is significantly limited compared to urban areas. Wait times can be long, especially on weekends and during peak park visitation periods. It is not advisable to rely on rideshare as your primary transportation, but for a night out or a short trip into town, it can work with some patience.



PUBLIC TRANSIT

Morongo Basin Transit Authority (MBTA) operates limited bus service connecting Twentynine Palms, Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, and Palm Springs. Service is infrequent and best used as a backup option. This is not a practical primary mode of transportation for most guests.



GAS & ROAD CONDITIONS:

Fill up your tank when you arrive in town, gas stations exist in Twentynine Palms and along Highway 62, but once you are inside the national park, there are no services. Cellular reception can be spotty in parts of the park, so downloading offline maps before heading out is highly recommended.



PRO TIP: Arrive during daylight if it is your first time. The desert roads around Joshua Tree are beautiful but unfamiliar at night. A daytime arrival lets you take in the landscape, get oriented, and head out to the park with confidence.
