During the general restoration 28 years ago, and the following retouches in 2024 we tried to keep its flair unchanged. All rooms are handpainted in the typical warm colours of a Tuscan country home.. shades of yellow and orange, this and some pieces of typical "arte povera" furnitures give you the feeling of living in an ambiente of "once upon the time"

The house, like the complete hamlet Poderi Val Verde with its 5 houses was constructed with local quarry stones by the farmers when clearing pastures, woodlands and "mediterranean macchia" slopes to prepare land for vineyards and olive groves.
Stones that traditionally were use for building houses or terrassed-walls. The original use of the hamlet was for agriculture, raising sheep and goats for cheese making.

Or simply take a stroll on our meditation trail along the small creek with its waterfalls and walk up to the waterlily pond with its gold fish.

Take a dip in the large communal swimming pool that you share with very few other guests (5,5x12x1,50m and 2x3m "splashpool" entrance platform for the smallest). During the cooler season you may use my private pool house - unheated water.

The extended leisure areas and well-cared gardens of more then 2 ha , equipped with garden furniture, the children's playground with soccer field, ping-pong table, play house are the pride of the German owners.
Cascades of flowers, citrus trees as well as the surrounding meadows with many rare types of wild orchids and herbs create the unforgettable image of a lost paradise..

Animated is this small paradise by various cats, 2 freeroaming well-behaved dogs (1 male, 1 female), a picturesque small herd of Cameron sheep, chicken, geese, ducks, pigeons and more.

Stunning also the large variety of birds and butterflies as well as fireflies in early summer, and with a bit of patience one may also see wild boars, deer and roe deer, foxes and porcupines as well as the rare peregrine falcon and tuscan buzzards that breeds in our valley.

The housing complex is surrounded by grass, gravel as well as terracotta paved walkways and stairs which join the different levels with their romantic porches and apartments. Several natural quarry stone terraces with solitary trees like cypresses, acacia, pine and oak trees are leading to the small creek where the real wild nature begins.

Enjoy nightingales singing at night and the concert of hundreds of birds in the morning.
