About this cabin rental

Escape to the Northwoods at Loon Landing, a comfortable 3-bedroom cabin with 4 beds located on the legendary Turtle Flambeau Flowage near Mercer, Wisconsin. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Wisconsin’s Northwoods, Loon Landing is an ideal home base for fishing trips, boating adventures, ATV and UTV riding, and anyone looking to spend a few days enjoying one of the most unique outdoor areas in northern Wisconsin.

A Fisherman’s Northwoods Getaway
If fishing is the reason you’re coming north, you’ll be right where you want to be. Loon Landing offers a pier where guests can keep their boat and convenient access to the Turtle Flambeau Flowage. You don’t even have to leave the property to wet a line—grab your fishing rod and fish right from the dock.

The Turtle Flambeau Flowage covers nearly 13,000 acres of water and is surrounded by an enormous stretch of protected Northwoods wilderness. The Wisconsin DNR lists walleye, muskellunge, northern pike, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, crappie, perch and several other species among the fish found in the Flowage.

Whether you’re heading out before sunrise looking for walleye, chasing musky, working the shoreline for bass or spending an afternoon fishing from the pier, Loon Landing gives you direct access to the kind of fishing the Mercer area is known for.

Explore the Turtle Flambeau Flowage
The Turtle Flambeau isn’t your typical developed recreational lake. The surrounding Turtle-Flambeau Scenic Waters Area encompasses roughly 40,000 acres, with miles of largely undeveloped shoreline, wooded islands and protected public land. The state manages more than 37,000 acres in the area, including approximately 114 miles of Flowage shoreline and 195 islands, helping preserve the remote character that makes the area so special.

Bring your boat and spend the day exploring bays, islands, river channels and miles of shoreline. Fishing and boating are a major part of the experience here, but the surrounding wilderness also makes every trip across the Flowage feel like you’ve gotten well away from civilization.

Bring the ATV or UTV
Loon Landing also makes a great headquarters for an ATV or UTV vacation in the Mercer area. Mercer has more than 100 miles of ATV/UTV trails locally, connecting riders into the much larger Iron County trail system and additional riding opportunities throughout northern Wisconsin. Trails wind through forests, past lakes and waterfalls, and connect with many local restaurants, bars and fuel stops.

Spend the morning fishing the Flowage, jump on the machines for an afternoon ride, then come back to the cabin and settle in for the evening.

Enjoy the Mercer Area
The town of Mercer, Wisconsin is known for its lakes, forests, trails, fishing and laid-back Northwoods atmosphere. You’ll find local restaurants and taverns, fuel, supplies, bait and other necessities in and around town while still being close to thousands of acres of wilderness.

The area is built around outdoor recreation. Depending on the season, guests come to Mercer for fishing, boating, ATV and UTV riding, hunting, hiking, wildlife watching, snowmobiling and simply getting away from crowded tourist areas.

Your Base Camp on the Flowage
With 3 bedrooms, 4 beds, a boat pier and direct access to the Turtle Flambeau Flowage, Loon Landing is especially well suited for anglers, boating groups, ATV/UTV riders and families who want a true Northwoods getaway.

Bring the fishing gear. Bring the boat. Bring the machines.

Loon Landing puts you right in the middle of what makes the Mercer and Turtle Flambeau Flowage area worth coming back to year after year.
