Porthcothan Cottage is a stylish, eco-friendly holiday cottage tucked away in the peaceful countryside at Merlin Farm, yet just a short walk from the beautiful sandy beach and village of Mawgan Porth.
Sleeping up to four guests, the cottage is ideal for couples, families or friends looking for a relaxing Cornish escape. The bright, open-plan living area has a striking glass frontage overlooking the rolling countryside, while the cosy woodburner and underfloor heating make it welcoming whatever the season. There is a king-size master bedroom and spacious bathroom with both a bath and walk-in shower on the ground floor, and a twin bedroom with ensuite upstairs.
Outside, enjoy your own enclosed courtyard with seating and lovely countryside views – perfect for a morning coffee or relaxing after a day exploring the coast. The cottage also has Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen, washing facilities and parking.

Mawgan Porth beach and village are approximately a 15–20 minute walk from the farm, with a sandy beach, restaurants, pub, shops and surf school. The walk takes you through the countryside and woodland, making it easy to leave the car behind.
Watergate Bay is just a short drive away, while Newquay and Padstow are both approximately 20 minutes by car. There are five beautiful beaches within five miles, along with coastal and countryside walks directly from Merlin Farm.
For days out, you can easily reach Newquay Zoo, Blue Reef Aquarium, Camel Creek Adventure Park and Lappa Valley. Golf, fishing, horse riding, surfing and spa treatments are all available nearby too.
