About this house rental
THE HOUSE (sleeps 11, 3 bedrooms, 3 en-suite bathrooms)
Ground floor: open-plan kitchen, dining and living area that flows onto the patio and your private plunge pool, plus one bedroom with en-suite bath.
Second floor: two identical master suites, each with a private bathroom and the same near-180 degree ocean view.
Rooftop terrace: BBQ grill, a long table for 10, a bar counter, hammocks and a hang-out lounge. This is where you will have dinner while the moon rises over the water.
Every bedroom has a desk or work nook, and the whole house is covered by Starlink Wi-Fi.OFF-GRID AND ECO BY DESIGN
The villa runs 100% on solar power with spring water and recycling. Ceiling and standing fans keep every bedroom, the living room, dining area and terrace cool (there is no air conditioning; the ocean breeze does the work). No microwave.
WILDLIFE AT THE DOOR
Scarlet macaws, howler and spider monkeys, agoutis, coatis, raccoons and hawks visit the large garden daily. During whale season you can spot humpbacks from the house. Sunrise and moonrise both happen right in front of the villa.
SURF AND BEACHES
Backwash (intermediate): paddle out from the beach in front of the house. Pan Dulce: 10-minute walk. Matapalo: 15 minutes. The beach in front of the villa appears at low tide; surfboard rental can be arranged.
GUEST ACCESS
Guests have the entire villa to themselves: all 3 floors, the 3 bedrooms and bathrooms, the kitchen, the private plunge pool and deck, the rooftop terrace with BBQ and bar, the garden and free parking for up to 4 cars. Private entrance; no shared spaces.
GETTING HERE
About 45 minutes from Puerto Jimenez town and its airstrip (daily flights from San Jose). A 4x4 is strongly recommended for the road to Cabo Matapalo. Several restaurants within a 10-minute drive; the nearest supermarket is in Puerto Jimenez, so stock up before you arrive. Corcovado National Park (Carate entrance) is 1.5 hours away.
