About this house rental

Wake up to the river. Spend the day on the water. End the evening around the fire.

Welcome to Welkstead, a beautifully remodeled 2-bedroom, 2-bath waterfront retreat in the heart of North Idaho.

With stunning river and mountain views, two beautifully furnished decks, and waterfront access to the Spokane River, Welkstead is the perfect place to relax, reconnect, and enjoy the outdoors.

Your stay is hosted by Village Collective, our local Coeur d'Alene team. You'll get a detailed guidebook before you arrive, and if anything comes up during your stay, we're just a message away.

The home is in Post Falls, with the Spokane River and the mountains in view from the decks. Q'emiln Park and the Post Falls Community Forest are close by, with hiking and mountain biking trails, a river swimming beach, a boat launch, a playground, picnic areas, and the Q'emiln climbing walls. Falls Park is an easy outing for paved riverfront paths and views of the Post Falls Dam and the river gorge, and the North Idaho Centennial Trail follows the river corridor, good for a walk, a run, or a long ride toward Coeur d'Alene.

For dinner, Dam Bar & Restaurant does waterfront dining along the Spokane River. Republic Kitchen + Taphouse pours Northwest craft beer next to burgers and gastropub plates, and The White House Grill is the longstanding Post Falls spot for garlic-forward Mediterranean food. Post Falls Brewing Company is where to land for a local pint after a day on the water, and Terre Coffee & Bakery and Kindred & Co. both handle the morning.

Downtown Coeur d'Alene is a short drive, with restaurants, shops, galleries, and the lakefront boardwalk. Tubbs Hill has shoreline trails and swimming coves above Lake Coeur d'Alene. Silverwood Theme Park makes a good day trip north of town.

This is a separate home on the property with its own private entrance, set back from the waterfront. Guests have the house and both decks to themselves. The dock below is shared with the home that sits on the water, and there is a small private water area reserved for your stay just to the right of the dock. Paddleboards and kayaks are available for your stay. Free parking on site.
