Skogsdrömmen – Secluded Holiday Home with Barrel Sauna in Småland

Welcome to Skogsdrömmen, a cosy red Swedish holiday home near Fågelfors in the heart of Småland. The name roughly translates as “Forest Dream” – and it describes the setting perfectly. Surrounded by typical Småland countryside and enjoying a secluded location, this is a wonderful place to slow down and spend your holiday among forests and lakes.

The holiday home was last renovated in 2025 and offers around 75 m² of living space for up to 4 guests plus a baby in a cot. With two separate bedrooms, the house is particularly suitable for couples and small families.

The first bedroom has a double bed measuring 160 × 200 cm. The second bedroom features an extendable bed that also provides a sleeping area of 160 × 200 cm. A baby cot is available in this room as well. A high chair is also provided.

The cosy living room is the perfect place to relax after a day outdoors. On cooler evenings, the fireplace creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere and adds to the traditional Swedish holiday-home experience. Firewood is available for an additional fee. A TV and internet access are also provided. The house is additionally equipped with air conditioning for comfortable temperatures on warmer days.

The kitchen provides everything you need for a self-catering holiday and includes its own dining table for shared meals. A traditional filter coffee machine is available for your morning coffee.

The house has one bathroom with shower and toilet, as well as an additional guest toilet. This is particularly convenient when staying with four guests. A washing machine and dryer are also available.

One of the highlights of Skogsdrömmen awaits outside. On the terrace, you will find a cosy barrel sauna overlooking the forest. After a long walk through the countryside or a day exploring Småland, you can relax in the warmth and enjoy the peaceful natural surroundings. On cooler evenings in particular, the sauna is a wonderful place to unwind while looking out towards the forest.

The holiday home is surrounded by a plot of approximately 1,000 m². Thanks to its secluded setting, you can enjoy a peaceful stay surrounded by nature. The house is located beside a quiet, lightly trafficked road, so an occasional vehicle may pass by, but otherwise the surroundings are characterised by nature and tranquillity.

Around Fågelfors, you will find the typical landscape of Småland with extensive forests, numerous lakes and small Swedish villages. The area is ideal for hiking, cycling and exploring nature. Depending on the season, you can also pick berries and mushrooms in the surrounding forests.

Especially lovely on warm summer days: a beautiful lakeside swimming area is located only around 3 km from the holiday home. Here you can go for a swim, spend a relaxing day by the water and enjoy the characteristic lake landscape of Småland.

One of the interesting nature destinations in the region is Moreravinen with More Kastell, known for its impressive rock formations. Ryningen Nature Reserve, Aboda Klint, the lake landscape around Allgunnen and Ekopark Hornsö also offer wonderful opportunities for hiking and nature experiences.

If you would like to follow in the footsteps of Astrid Lindgren, you can plan a day trip to Vimmerby. Here you will find Astrid Lindgren’s World, where Pippi Longstocking, Emil of Lönneberga and many other famous characters come to life.

The Swedish Baltic coast can also be explored from Fågelfors. Around Oskarshamn, you will find small harbours, swimming areas and the characteristic Swedish archipelago landscape. For a longer day trip, you can also visit Kalmar, with its famous castle and historic old town, or cross the bridge to the island of Öland.

Skogsdrömmen is available from April to October and is a non-smoking property. One dog is welcome for an additional fee. Final cleaning is included in the rental price. Bed linen and towels are not provided and must be brought by guests. Electricity is charged according to actual consumption. Firewood for the fireplace is available for an additional fee.

A €250 security deposit is required for the stay.
