The Chic-ish Shack is our family’s personal retreat when we aren't hosting, thoughtfully designed to feel less like a rental and more like a place where you'll truly want to hang out. We are not on site during your stay, but we love when guests enjoy our home just as we do.

Inside, you'll find warm wood paneling, an electric fireplace, Smart TV, and unique handmade and vintage touches—including custom stained glass made by the homeowner, crocheted toys, living plants, a jade lamp, and a vintage turntable with a record collection to explore.

You will have full private access to the entire house and fenced yard (garage is off-limits to guests). Additionally, guests have access to the gated Angola by the Bay community amenities:

Seasonal Large Community Pool: Features a snack bar (weekends 12–3 PM) and designated lap swim hours (10–11 AM).

2026 Pool Schedule: Open weekends only May 23 – June 7; Daily June 13 – Sept 7; Weekends only Sept 12 – Sept 20
(Hours: 11 AM – 7 PM).

Water & Marina: Marina dock for fishing and crabbing, boat ramp, and a dedicated kayak launch area.

Sports & Recreation: Tennis, pickleball, basketball, bocce courts, softball field, volleyball net, outdoor table tennis, and tetherball.

Outdoors & Trails: Kids' playground, walking and biking paths, and community picnic tables with outdoor grills.

★★ IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE ★★

Dogs at the Beach

Delaware’s guarded beaches and boardwalks do not allow dogs from May 1 to September 30. However, some non-guarded stretches of Cape Henlopen and Delaware Seashore are dog-friendly year-round. Community trails and docks are open to pets anytime.

Bringing a Boat?

Guests may use the community boat ramp. Boats must be registered at the main office ($10/day or $50/week) and removed from the water each evening (trailers can be parked in the driveway). Please inform us in advance so we can provide registration paperwork. Kayaks have a designated launch area with no fee.

HOA & Community Rules

Angola by the Bay is an active, conservation-focused community.

HOA Registration: Required prior to arrival via DocuSign (sent immediately upon booking).

Speed Limits & Road Safety: Please drive slowly. Bikers ride on the right (with traffic); pedestrians walk on the left (against traffic).

Trash/Recycling: Pack in/pack out all trash from docks and marina (no bins on site).

Primary Guest: Must be 25+ years old
HOA Registration: Completed prior to arrival
Pool: Applicable community rules, passes/fees apply
Pet Policy: Up to 3 pets allowed with prior approval and $100 per pet fee. Guests must clean up all pet waste.
Thermostat: Minimum setting is 68°F.
Firewood: Guests should bring their own firewood (onsite wood is not guaranteed).
Trash & Recycling: Place bins at the curb Monday night or before Tuesday pickup. Recycling is collected bi-weekly.
Wildlife: Do not feed wildlife (deer, raccoons, insects, and snakes may be present in the area).
Strictly Prohibited: Smoking inside, parties/events, and unauthorized guests.
Rule Violations: $500 penalty per violation plus applicable damage charges.
