The Space:
Riverlight Retreat finds you before you find this house. Floor-to-ceiling windows wrap nearly every room, pulling river views and forest green into the open living spaces where the boundaries between inside and out begin to blur. The home breathes with high ceilings punctuated by warm wood beams, pale walls that glow in afternoon sun, and an architecture that whispers rather than shouts its confidence.
The main level is one generous composition: a living room anchored by a contemporary fireplace, dining area that flows seamlessly into a full kitchen, and windows that frame the Hudson like borrowed landscape art. A screened porch extends the logic of the space and is the perfect place to linger over morning coffee or evening wine, protected from weather but still tethered to the view. Behind the main living zone, a deck opens toward the river.
Bedrooms here aren't afterthoughts. Two suites occupy the main level, each with its own ensuite bathroom and the kind of natural light that makes you want to stay in bed longer. The upper level mirrors this generosity: two additional bedroom suites, each outfitted as a private retreat. Windows frame trees and sky. Bathrooms are modern and spa-like, with finishes that feel considered and calm.
Riverlight Retreat works as a gathering place for families and friends who value both connection and space. The open living and dining areas welcome shared meals and conversation; the individual suites offer refuge when quiet is needed. It's a space that understands modern life; four ensuite bathrooms mean everyone gets privacy and comfort.
The screened porch is where the day bends. Enjoy a large fireplace, outdooring dining table, lounge seating and a TV. Breakfast here tastes different. Evening drinks become ritual. The deck offers unobstructed river views; this is Hudson, after all, where the landscape is part of the reason you came.
Set in one of the Hudson Valley's most desirable neighborhoods, close enough to antique dealers, farm restaurants, and galleries to make a weekend feel cultural, far enough to feel genuinely away. The house itself is set back from the road, private without being isolated, and the river view is a constant, quiet presence.
The Neighborhood:
Set in one of Hudson's most coveted residential pockets, a tree-lined escape that feels genuinely removed, yet the city's galleries, antique shops, and farm-to-table restaurants are minutes away. Hudson itself is a design lover's destination, home to a thriving creative community, world-class dining, and an ever-evolving scene of independent boutiques and vintage dealers. The Hudson River is your constant companion here, with the property offering unobstructed views toward the Catskills. The town balances sophistication with ease: you can spend your day browsing galleries and tasting wine at one of the region's excellent producers, then retreat to your private riverside haven. It's close enough for culture and dining, far enough for genuine peace.
Getting Around:
Riverlight Retreat is about 2.5 hours from New York City, and guests should plan to travel by car as public transportation in the area is limited. The main route from NYC is via the Taconic State Parkway north to NY-23 west, continuing toward Mt. Merino Road in Hudson.
In the winter, we recommend an SUV with four-wheel drive that can handle the snow and gravel roads.
