About this house rental
Welcome to Highgarden Lodge, a 5,600 SF luxury log cabin-style home built for groups. Gather with the people you care about most in our vaulted great room. Take in the endless backyard forest views as you enjoy the hot tub, fire pit, sauna, and outdoor dining. Thrill your family or friends with rounds of ping pong, pop-a-shot, pool, foosball, cornhole, giant Jenga, and so much more.
With 8 bedrooms, Highgarden Lodge sleeps 20 comfortably. The cozy wood interior features a spacious, main-level open floor plan, a game room/rec room downstairs, and an upper-level loft. Plus, pet-friendly! More than a vacation property, staying at Highgarden Lodge is a vacation unto itself.
Highgarden Lodge has been a beloved vacation rental property since 2019, now newly managed by Chris at New School Hosting.
The house is about a 5-minute drive to the slopes, mountain coaster, pool, and dining at Massanutten, 7 minutes to the spa, and 8 minutes to the indoor/outdoor Waterpark. The Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park is 15 minutes away, with some of the best hiking on the East Coast. JMU and everything else in Harrisonburg is 20 minutes away, and several breweries, wineries, and restaurants are within 20 minutes of the house.
The home layout is as follows:
Outside:
- Back deck features hot tub, brand-new sauna, conversation set with propane fire pit, outdoor dining for 10, gas grill, and cushioned lounge chairs
- Although the cabin is in the Massanutten neighborhood, it has great privacy. There is a small trail through the woods behind the house.
Main level:
- Grand living room with vaulted ceilings, large smart TV, ample seating, gas fireplace, and wet bar.
- Fully stocked and recently renovated gourmet kitchen with huge island that seats 7 and stainless appliances
- Dining area with space for 10
- BR1: Master bedroom with king bed, private screened-in porch, and large ensuite bathroom
- BR2: Master bedroom with king bed and ensuite bathroom
- Half bath
- Laundry room
Upper level:
- Loft with pool table and dedicated workspace with desk, chair, and monitor
- BR3: Queen bedroom
- BR4: Queen bedroom
- BR5: Twin-over-twin bunk bedroom + floor mattress
- Hall full bath
Lower level:
- Rec room with big screen smart TV and large sectional couch. Walk around to the other side of the room, and you'll find a ping-pong table, basketball game, and foosball table
- BR6: Master bedroom with king bed and ensuite bathroom
- BR7: Queen bedroom
- BR8: Bunk bedroom with twin-over-full bed + twin trundel bed
- Hall full bath
Other things to note:
- Highgarden Lodge is pet friendly! We allow up to 4 pets with a $200 pet fee (total, not per pet or per night).
- In addition to the beds pictured, there are 2 additional fold-out twin beds stored in closets.
- Massanutten offers hiking, skiing, snowboarding, tubing, swimming, dining, spa, ropes course / zip line, golfing, go carts, mini golf, and most recently, the only mountain coaster in Virginia!
- The driveway can hold up to 7 cars. There is an overflow parking lot available in Massanutten if needed.
- EV charging is available free of charge in the driveway.
- Wifi is fast with a strong signal throughout the house and decks.
- Most bedrooms, living room, and rec room feature a smart TV where you can access all the main streaming services. We do not subscribe to cable.
- We provide a fully stocked coffee bar with multiple coffee drip and Keurig options.
- Guests can enjoy community pool access in the summer season for a small per-person fee.
- Linens and towels provided
- Pack-n-play, high chair, and kid dishes/utensils provided.
- We do require a separate rental agreement, which we will send a link to e-sign after you book. There are no additional fees beyond those listed here.

This home is in a private residential neighborhood and is part of the Massanutten Property Owners Association (MPOA), governed by its rules and regulations. There are rental homes in all MPOA neighborhoods, but people also live here. Your nearby neighbors may be full-time residents, including families with children, retirees, second-home owners and other guests
enjoying their retreat.
NOISE
• Quiet hours: 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM.
• Keep noise indoors during these hours.
• No excessive noise at any time, as judged by MPOA or its assigned agents.
PARKING
• Keep all tires off the road.
• Don't block fire hydrants or park in front of another property without written approval
from your host.
• Park only in designated areas or overflow lot (4007 Peak Dr., Massanutten, VA 22840)
• No buses, campers, or RVs to be parked at homes or on roads. Overflow lot is
available with written approval from your host.
OUTDOOR FIRES
• High wildfire risk area!
• No open fires.
• No unattended fires.
• No firepit use during quiet hours (10:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
• Firepits and grills may be restricted during local emergency
conditions, check MassanuttenVillage(dot)com or electronic sign at
entrance for updates.
ALCOHOL
No open containers on roads or in common areas.
PETS
