About this apartment rental
We are available via Airbnb for any queries, or via phone in an emergency.
Bury St Edmunds has been drawing visitors for over a thousand years - pilgrims to the abbey, traders to the twice-weekly market, and today anyone with the good sense to seek out one of England's most handsome market towns. The Abbey Gardens and St Edmundsbury Cathedral are a short stroll from the flat, and the ruins of one of medieval Europe's most powerful monasteries make for a genuinely atmospheric morning walk.
The food scene is exceptional for a town this size. For a special evening, 1921 Angel Hill holds two AA Rosettes and a Michelin Guide listing - intricate, inventive dishes in an elegant setting on Angel Hill. Pea Porridge on Cannon Street is the locals' favourite - a relaxed neighbourhood restaurant in a 19th century former bakery with an ever-changing menu of Moorish-inspired dishes and remarkable wine. Maison Bleue is the long-standing French option, consistently excellent. For something more casual, Wright's on Abbeygate Street does the finest toasties and Monmouth coffee in town, and Harriet's on Buttermarket is the place for traditional afternoon tea. Hendo's on Abbeygate handles fish and chips. The Old Cannon Brewery next door to Pea Porridge brews on site and is worth a visit in its own right.
Greene King Brewery - one of Britain's most famous - is on the doorstep with tours and tastings worth booking ahead. The Apex music venue brings live events year-round, and the town's independent shops along Abbeygate Street and Buttermarket make it one of Suffolk's most rewarding places to spend an afternoon.
You will have the whole flat to yourself.
Bury St Edmunds has been drawing visitors for over a thousand years - pilgrims to the abbey, traders to the market, and today anyone with the good sense to seek out one of Suffolk's most rewarding market towns. This Victorian listed building puts you right at the centre of it.
The flat has been recently renovated throughout with a warm, autumnal palette - rich tones and considered touches that sit comfortably within the period bones of the building. Tall sash windows, solid Victorian walls and real character throughout, softened by a modern finish that makes it genuinely comfortable rather than just characterful. It's a flat that feels considerably more distinctive than a standard central rental.
A comfortable double bedroom and well-equipped kitchen make it well suited to couples or solo travellers who want a proper base rather than just somewhere to sleep. A dedicated workspace and fast WiFi make it equally practical for anyone combining work with a stay. The washing machine is a welcome addition for longer stays.
One of the more useful details: a dedicated free off-street parking space is included - genuinely rare in central Bury St Edmunds, and something guests consistently mention as a meaningful convenience.
Step outside and Abbey Gardens and the Cathedral ruins are a short stroll. The town's independent shops, cafés and restaurants along Abbeygate Street are minutes on foot, and the Greene King Brewery - one of Britain's most famous - is right on the doorstep with tours worth booking ahead. The Apex music venue brings live events year-round, and the twice-weekly market is one of the finest in Suffolk.
