The room was much larger than expected and the wall mounted TV was the biggest I've ever seen in a hotel. The room had a lot of natural lighting and the bathroom was immaculate. The bed was huge and by far the comfiest hotel bed I've ever slept in. The pillows seemed expensive and very comfortable. There was no noise from traffic on the third floor and no noise from other guests. The floor we were on seemed empty. Front desk staff were very welcoming and the porters and other staff were very professional and friendly. Transport into Montreal city centre was very easy and the hotel is conveniently located by the Panama railway station. It only took two stops to get to the Notre Dame Basilica.
The TV didn't have Netflix or Amazon Prime subscriptions which other hotels that I've stayed in had. Even budget motels I've stayed in had Netflix, so that was a little disappointing. Especially, because the local TV channels were all in French, with seemingly no English options.
It was also a little disappointing that we had to pay extra for parking, as this wasn't included in the price. When I parked my car and paid, I was then inconveniently asked to move my vehicle twice, once by telephone to the room and another time by email, because construction works were being carried out. This was at a time when we had the do not disturb sign up.
Another minor issue was the smell in the corridor on the third floor. I can only assume it was either from cleaning chemicals or the fitting of a new carpet, but it was very strong.

Everything was amazing and I really liked the place. I liked the ice maker machine beside my room which helped a lot in not calling the reception for a such request.
The pool chlorine was a little bit high at the time I was in in the evening and colder although it was warm in the morning. I expected to relax in a warm water in the evening but it was disappointing being cold.

The room was spotlessly clean, quiet and relatively close to the Montreal Metropolitan Airport (YHU). We were warmly greeted upon arrival and enjoyed watching a World Cup game in the large, clean breakfast room.
We booked and paid for our two rooms a month before arriving, and at the end of our stay when checking out to make our early morning flight, we were not permitted to leave until we paid for one of the rooms again. It took over a week of repeated long distance telephone calls to sort out the problem and have the charge reversed. The aggressive and accusatory treatment, followed by having to prove advance payment, makes me reluctant to recommend this hotel unless you go prepared with paper back-up showing proof of payment in advance.
