The location was very close to the "Southern Most Point" and was still a nice, a quiet neighborhood. It was close enough to Duval St to walk. The room is in an old, remodeled house. The air conditiioning works well. THe Kona Kai is in an old remodeled house. This does give it a "Key West" charm that adds to the whole Key West Historical experience. Many people we talked to paid more { hundreds more) for a newer, commerical hotel type aaccommodation. Our expectations were met and even exceeded. I would stay here again.
The hot tub was right outside the room but was not warm.

Check in contactless & was very easy. Only 2 free parking spots but easy street parking. Room smelled & looked clean. The AC worked excellent. TV had cable but not a smart TV. Lots of toiletries & towels available. Outdoor chairs & table to watch on the front porch. Small beach right in the back. Another 7 mins away by bike. Found bikes that worked & rode through downtown. Duval street is just down the street! The zero buoy is pretty much around the corner! Downtown experience is all easy to get to.
Pool shade umbrella broke because of the winds. The pool was grimy. The room showed cracks and water damage painted over. The floor felt dusty. The shower looked ok, water pressure was low but had good hot water.
