Vagabond Lodge at Kicking Horse

We absolutely loved our stay at Vagabond Lodge. It is a beautiful, cozy property with so much character, in an incredible mountain setting. Our room was very comfortable, the breakfasts were fantastic, and the common areas really added to the experience. We met some wonderful people during our stay and really enjoyed sitting together in the common areas, chatting and sharing stories. It has a warm, social atmosphere that you just don’t get at a typical hotel. Our biggest suggestion would be to add small fridges to the guest rooms. There is a communal fridge available, which we did use, but having to go up and down the stairs whenever we wanted a drink or something we had stored was a bit of a pain. We also had two beers disappear from the communal fridge during our stay. A small in-room fridge would make a big difference, particularly for guests who are road-tripping and travelling with drinks, snacks and leftovers. We also appreciated being shown around the lodge when we arrived, but after travelling all day we were exhausted and really just wanted to get into our room and settle for a little while. Perhaps guests could be given the option to check in and get comfortable first, with the lodge tour offered a little later. Those are relatively small things in what was otherwise a wonderful and memorable stay. Vagabond has so much warmth, personality and charm, and we are very glad we chose it.
