My wife and I drove up to the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center to attend a one-day investment conference and then stayed the rest of the weekend for a short vacation. The conference facilities were excellent. The resort facilities were memorable, with so many unique features. The food at the on-site restaurants was exceptional and medium priced on the hotel restaurant scale. The room was spotless, with a nice, modern appearance. The 100" TV screen on the wall looked like a piece of art when not watched. The room and the hall all had a fresh scent. Staying at the resort was a much enjoyed short escape from the normal pressures of jobs. The resort was very family oriented. Rooms are not cheap, but well worth it; and discounts can be found through various travel sites. The staff were friendly, professional, and very helpful.
