We truly enjoyed our one week stay at Alpine Meadows.

With no prior experience staying at B&B’s I booked seven nights at Alpine Meadows Lodge for my wife and me. She always values cleanliness and the excellent reviews strongly influenced our choice. Those reviews turned out to be well deserved, (and I note that removing dusty hiking boots at the front door certainly is a simple and sensible initial enhancement of communal cleanliness.) Our plan was simply to use the lodge as a base for a series of extensive day trips through the national parks of the Canadian Rockies. As a somewhat introverted person I was not sure how I would do mingling with other guests. For the first few days of our stay, after an very adequate breakfast consisting of a bowl of cereal, a hard boiled egg, yogurt, and fruit we were gone all day sightseeing and hiking and returned late after most other guests had retired to their rooms. The lodge at 10 pm was quiet and sleep came easily in our second-floor room. I was comfortable in our cocoon of privacy. As the week wore on, the continual kindnesses and facilitations of our hosts, Medha and Jannis, began to melt away my reserve. We began to chat at breakfast with other long term guests. Halfway through our stay we enjoyed a grilled dinner on the porch and an evening of conversation afterwards in the dining room with our hosts and two other traveling families. By the end of our stay we came to regard the lodge itself as part of our vacation and Medha as a new friend. Some have reviewed this accommodation as quirky. If so, we loved its quirks. If we return to this area in the future, we will certainly come back to stay at Alpine Meadows Lodge.

Location and service were excellent. The house is an old lodge overlooking the city, with a communal fireplace and a nice balcony area

The bed mattress was uncomfortable, and the shower/toilet facilities were problematic

Disappointed

Clean and good view.

The location is too far, room is small and old. The beds were loose, like shaking.

Helpful owner, clean room

Owner was very helpful, he went the extra mile by helping us with our car when it had issues. Also, the place is very clean and affordable

Probably can consider single serve portions of jam instead of using a big jam jar for hygiene purpose

great place to stay and friendly staff!

The property overlooks the river, in the middle of the forest. It is a very quiet spot, with beautiful forest. The lodge is very clean with a beautiful fireplace in the common area.

only downside is that our bed was very squeaky.

It was a beautiful location and convenient for my activities in nearby Yoho national park.

The views from the room were beautiful and they provided some helpful welcome info. Breakfast was simple but had lots of choices. I appreciated having access to a microwave for suppertime. If I stayed longer I would have checked out the trails onsite.

It would help to have info on checkout, just like at check-in. It was straightforward but knowing that would put me at ease. Also a sign in the breakfast area to leave our dishes when finished because I wasn't sure if I should clear my dishes and there wasn't a place to put them.

The owners did not know what continental breakfast meant......no choice of anything other than a slice of toast with a spread from open used jars which previous renters dipped into...gross...Covid rules still apply people!!

Fantastic setting but would benefit from some updating.

Lovely remote location in amongst the trees. Fantastic alpine lodge interior to common parts.

The room was a little dated and renewal of linen and towels would be advisable. The breakfast was somewhat frugal.

Cozy lodge in beautiful nature

Beautiful location, cozy lodge with comfortable rooms. The view from the lodge is wonderful and there's nature all around. The guy in charge was very friendly and helpful. He even gave us his bear spray for a day when we didn't have any yet. We felt at home at the lodge and were glad we chose this place.

The breakfast is a bit limited, there is only sweet spread, no cheese or ham. Also only one small coffee machine, so the coffee is empty frequently and it takes a while for a new pot to brew.

It was not about the B&B but the highway to the Lake Luise was closed at night until 7:00AM due to a big construction project.

Very little to like. The atmosphere is set immediately you walk in. The greeting we got was nothing short of rude. We arrived a little early for check in ( maybe an hour before booked). The guy shouted down the stairs that we must come back at 4.00. We went away & returned about an hour later. There was no one at reception. Our key was left on the counter. That was ok, but afterwards one would imagine the owner( manager) would at least introduce himself & give us some information about the place, but nothing. Hardly a hello in the morning from him or his wife either..is that expecting too much. Two nights here & more atmosphere in a monastery. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special about it.

I think I've said enough. I wouldn't come back.

Dirty washroom

The place was simple and the breakfast had a huge variety of cereal 🤣

The bathtub was dirty! I found hair that wasn't mine neither my partner upon arrival. The hosts kid was running around and screaming at 7am without consideration to the guests. Our room was next door to the lodge's laundry room so everytime they turn the washing machine on, the wall would shake and it was noisy.

We would definitely recommend this property for it's peaceful surroundings.

The location was 7 minutes down a well maintained gravel road in a lovely wooded area. Very quiet. Everything we needed was available to us. Wonderful view from room #7. Other guests at the lodge were very friendly if you wanted to visit.

For us, we really felt at home in this lovely lodge.
