Location: A++ (Right on the beach is amazing!)
Room Decor and Amenities: A (The hotel clearly spent a lot to update the rooms)
Comfort: A (Beds were comfy)
Check In: We couldn't find the office at check in. We had to find an employee to tell us that the check in office was not on site, but actually 2 blocks west and 2 blocks south of the hotel. Which was really weird. We did not receive any information about this before check in, or we would've gone there first. And the receptionist said it has been like this for years. That is weird.
View: We were a little disappointed we didn't have a room view of the ocean, but instead a back stairwell.
AC: AC was very loud when it was on.
Parking: Parking was not exactly as "Included" as they implied when we selected this hotel over another one where the parking wasn't included. It seemed there were only about 12 actual parking spots for the hotel, which of course, were always taken by beachgoers. We had to find street parking every day and then move the car at night, and praying a legit spot next to the hotel would open. It was very annoying. And kept us from going anywhere other than this area for dinner.
Beach Parking Lot: We were very disappointed that the beach parking that was supposed to be closed from 3am-6am was basically a homeless encampment right next to the hotel. There were several cars and vans that were clearly owned and lived in by homeless people, who spent their day sitting in front of their vehicles, and who were sometimes very loud and obnoxious with the cussing and language they used. I am not sure why the city of LaJolla allows them to stay there. They are basically getting oceanfront property for free. We would NOT stay at this hotel again simply because of that. We did not feel safe. And we did not even use the beach because of them, which was the whole reason we selected this hotel in the first place.

Close to ocean!
In room 103, tv didn’t work. Wall socket in bathroom came out of the wall.
