We loved the location of the property. The north end of Virginia Beach is great, with minimal to no traffic. Plenty of room on the beach; it was not overcrowded, and it was serene on the Chesapeake side. Our accommodations were clean and well cared for by the room attendants. The overall hotel was clean and well kept up.
The #1 issue with the property was the lack of elevators. The property has two elevators at the front. 1 was out of order, and the working elevator was extremely slow; add that to one elevator for 8 floors of accommodations, and you have an extended wait to go anywhere. The fact that this same elevator issue has been reported in multiple reviews only shows the property does not take maintenance very seriously. There is a second set of elevators in the rear of the hotel, but those lead to the parking garage, not the lobby or front of the hotel. The second issue is that parking is $30/day, and $35/day for valet is ridiculous, in my opinion. For the rates that this hotel charges, parking should be at least half that price or even better, FREE! This isn’t Baltimore, NYC, or Philadelphia. Why charge your guests for parking? The main issue was with the contracted valet service. The guys were attentive and cared for the vehicles. Finding the valet was quite difficult. We stayed at the property for 4 days, and several times I had to go to the hotel desk for help retrieving my vehicle key fob or turning it in. So basically, I paid $35/day to park my own car and manage my own key fob when leaving or returning to the hotel. But hey thank you for keeping my car always out front so O didn’t have to retrieve it from the parking garage. In my opinion, this isn't a standard I am used to at Marriott hotels.

The beach access and pool were cool. I like that they were pet friendly and not too far from other attractions. The layout of our room was nice and most of the rooms, if not all, had a good view of the bay.
The white guy at the front desk covered in tattoos is rude and made the checking in and checking out memorable in the worst way. Also, the restaurant attached to the hotel has ok food. The hotel is not located in a safe walkable area so it was tricky to figure out where to walk my dog - figured it out though. The hotel pool is small and has limited seating.
