Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites St. Charles by IHG

Very clean and quiet

The staff was great, breakfast attendant had everything stocked up and fresh and was very nice. My daughter and her friends enjoyed the pool. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the AC worked great.

The only thing I didn’t like was there were some ants in the rooms, but that’s expected this time of year, so no big deal.

Everything was great as usual. We always stay at Holiday Inn Express because we know it will be clean, comfortable, and the breakfasts are wonderful. The only criticism of this one was that it was in a kind of so so location. Kind of in an industrial park. No problems, just not a great location. However, it was perfect for our needs. We were in town for a funeral, and the hotel was very close to the church were it was taking place. Also, it was quite close to downtown St. Charles which is a very nice, quaint little shopping district. So, all-in-all, it was a good stay.

The staff was nice

I checked in on Friday about 2pm, I went to see my room then I had to leave to handle something personal. I came back that night after ten, couldn't get in my room after trying 2 times. Finally the girl at the desk calls the room 104 & a man answered saying that it was his room. I'm telling her no I checked in at 2pm and the girl at the desk gave me keys to room 104. The man on the phone telling her that he checked in at 2:45 and was given that room(my room). I received a free upgrade to a bigger room which was great but I'm still irritated & confused(how this come happen). She kept apologizing that she didn't understand what the day shift front desk person did. Sunday afternoon there was a power outage, what a inconvenience, no air, no tv, no elevator so I just packed up my belongings. As I was leaving sometime after 5 nobody was at the desk. I went back something after 8:30pm she yells the power back on I said that's alright I'm going to check out early just want to walk thru my room to make I have everything thing. My check out wasn't until Monday(5/25) at 11am but 2 unpleasant things done already happened, that's a sign to just leave & go home. This was my 55th Birthday weekend the staff was nice, my first time staying here so overall I can't really say how I feel about my stay.
