Holiday Inn Express Benicia by IHG

The location was excellent for our purposes, the facility was comfortable, and the staff very courteous and efficient

Breakfast choices seemed a bit limited compared to other Holiday Inn Express facilities I've stayed in the last year, but everything was well-prepared.

The breakfast options were excellent and the food was delicious. The cook in the breakfast was also very friendly and properly greeted guest as they walked in to dine. In addition, we really appreciated the employee who brought us the baby crib. She was also very friendly, made us feel totally welcome. She demonstrated exceptional customer service and went out of her way to make sure we were all set especially since we showed up late at night.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

The service was good, and the breakfast was also very good. They provided extra foldable beds without any extra charge, which was very helpful for my family. The hotel also has a 24-hour fitness room. One thing I really liked was that I could still drink hot chocolate in the breakfast room at midnight.

There was no pool available. I also think the hotel needs a better parking sign because the parking entrance was very hard to see.

Rooms were clean and free breakfast was very nice

Rooms had a funny smell. But worst part was a very strange incident where a drunk customer somehow entered our daughters’ room while we were gone, passed out on one of their beds and had to be taken away by police/paramedics. The only reason we suspected anything happened was that when we returned to the room at night there were two unopened beer cans left on the night stand. We called the front desk to let them know and that’s when we were told the whole story. The staff member changed the sheets in the room, but we don’t know if he had planned to tell us about it or not. We asked for another room, which he arranged, but then my girls started to feel uneasy and decided to just stay with us in our room. We were able to get a full refund on the room, which we appreciated.
