Staff were excellent. All of the receptionists were super approachable and helpful. In fact, even guests were friendly. Hotel had a great atmosphere to it.
Free parking (subject to availability although we never had a problem getting a space), complimentary coffee and breakfast pastries. Some other reviews complain it isn't a proper breakfast and it isn't, but it was good for us and saved having to buy breakfast out.
Also, great location. Felt safe with kids and close to all the attractions we wanted to see (although a bit far from the beach). Restaurants close by: We had decent meals at Bobs Big Boy, the Talleyrand up the road, and the Jinya ramen place next door.
We never used the pool but it looked good.
Rooms were clean, and beds comfortable.
The room needs some minor refurbishment, and some of the furnishings could be replaced.

Ice machine outside broken & had to carry heavy luggage up a flight of stairs.
